AN ILLUSTRATION. (Br IVassratfj.—Spadal OorroopondealU Palmerston N., October 31. Local merchants have issued a circular to grocers. The circular states:—Wo regret to inform you that, owing to tie strike, a considerable quantity of our goods is held up at Wellington and wo shall be in short supply in some hi.cs. It will bo necessary to get supplies per rail instead of via Foxtail, and this will, of course, make the- cost higher. The oxtra cost we purposo passing on to J'qu, nrtd you, in your turn, will seas it on to thfi nublio.
