'A good deal of time was taken up In discussing tho question of afforestation. It wtfs rosolvdd " that this, conference respectfully urges the Government to socuro tho sorvioei of an international forestry expert to report on afforestation in its relation to the .present and future requirements of this country.'' It was mentioned that the Dominion had formerly Mr. Julius, of Chnßt- ■ church—quits an oxcart in forestry— but ho oould get nothing to do in New Zealand, and -was eventually secured by Australia.
