The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. I■. • ■ Unemployment. The Hon. W. ERASER (Minister of Public Works), in answer to Mr. Ell, said that ho had 'issued instructions that employment on road-work in Canterbury district should be provided for men who were out of work in Christchurch. Thero were always a. certain number .of unemployed, the Minister added, who would not take work in tho country. ,' FOOTWEAR REGULATION. The Hon. F. M. B. FISHER gavo notice to introduce the Footwear Regulation Bill.
