Sheepskins aro shown in every stage of manufac-
ture, from tlie rough pelt to the highlyfinished basil, imitation chamois, alligator skin, and other fancy leathers that are so widely used in manufacture. Tot so high a decree of perfection has the tannor's art been displayed in tho product under lioiico that none but an expert icould tell the substitute for tho real article. Practically every grade of wool {jrown in New Zealand is shown iu all stages of preparation, from tho unscourcd article to tho finished product ready for the weaver's loom. Tho wool is so classed that tho farmer can seo at a glance which class his own fleeces sliould be in. In addition, tliero is a collection of wool fonn all parts of tho world which enables comparisons to bo made. I'his miniature exhibition of by-products is of such a comprehensive nature as to strikingly demonstrate at a glance what tho freezing industry has done and is doing for tho farmers of New Zealand. This is tho more pronounced when it is'remembered a few years ago tho only asset which slieepowners obtained from their surplus stock was a few shillings for the skin and tallow.
