CARTS HELD UP.
SHIPS' STORES SENT BACK. All tho ships in port, with the exception of tho Maori, having left tho wharves yesterday, tho strikers turned their attention to carts and lorries which wero laden with ships' stores and Other material. One of the first vehicles stopped was one bearing stores for a steamer. As the cart drew near, _ a dense bunch of men assembled round it, and turned it right about face. A similar fate met a cart belonging to a well-known meat company. A striker took hold of the horse's head and led the animal and conveyance' through tho ever-increasing crowd. The cart of a Chinese, laden with vegetables, was also sent away. Presently the Union Co.'s motor-lorry hove in sight with a load of fresh linen. It was quickly surrounded by the crowd and held up. . The driver attempted to persuade tlio strikers to let him through, but it was 110 use —they were determined to stop evervtliing they could.' Turning about, the "driven guided his motor towards .Ten-nis Quay, and many of the strikers indulged in'a joj;-ride along tho Quay. Severn! otl'er vehicles were stopped during the day.
