BOTH SIDES MEET.
w PRIME MINISTER PRESIDES: A conference of representatives of ■both sides was held last evening in the Government Buildings. The Prime Minister was present by invitation, ' and , presided, 'l'he conference commenced at <.30 o'clock, and lasted about three liours. Certain proposals were mado . which • could not bo made public last evening. These proposals will bo submitted the principals of each party to-day, and another conference will bo held to-day, probably at noon. The Prime Minister will again preside. I'lio following were the delegates at- ! tending the conference:—For the employees: Messrs. W. T. Young (secretary of the Seamen's Union); F. Curtice (president of the Waterside Workers' Union); G. Bruce (assistant-secre- • tary of the Waterside Workers' Union); — Conncll (membor'of the executive of the Watersido Workers' Union). For the employers: Mr. W. A.' Kennedy (Union Steam Ship Company); , Captain Evans (shore superintendent SliawSavill Company); Messrs. R. Fletcher (chairman of the Harbour Board); and W. Bennett (manager of the South Taranaki Steam Ship Company).
