CANISTERS' DISPUTE SETTLED.

Triggs, Conciliation Com' . mitsioncr, presided over a meeting of; the Conciliation Council to-day, tti hear a disputo between tho Dunethn Canisters' Dnion and ten employers wl\o wero cited. After a very short debate an agreement was arrived at. Tho chief 6l«i'ses aro as follow: —Forty-eight hours constituto a weok'a work; piece-, work shall not bo permitted unless a log is mutually agreed upon between tho employer and the union; tho minimum i ate of wages for adult workers shall be Is. per hour; overtime shall bo paid for at tho following rates:—From 0.30 p.m. to 0 pan. time and a quarter; from 9 p.m. to 7.30 a.m,, time and a half: afternoon on Saturdays, time and a half. The minimum wage payable to boys and youths shall be: —First year, 12,' i Od. per week; second year, 17s, Gd.; third year, 225. 6d.; fourth year, 305.; iiftli year, 355. The proportion of boys and youths shall be two boys or youths to over.v adult- worker or fraction thereof. The award shall remain in force from November 1, 1913. until November I. 1915.
