A TOURING EXHIBITION.

» ON WHEELS THROUGH CANADA'. Am exhibition oil wheels is the latest! project for bringing British manufae* titres beforo tho people of Canada. It is proposed to buy a train, stock it with tho products of this country, and sent it on an alinost continuous run, under suitable charge, in tho groat Dominion. The lead in the matter is being taken by tho Canadian Chamber or Commerce in.London, whieh is in comimmieation with tho Chambers of Commerce of 18 of tho principal manufacturing cities'in tho United Kingdom. The idea is that groups of manufacturers in these cities should combine to purchase the train, the manufacturers renting space in tho coaches for tho purpose of displaying thoir goods. A! general manager would bo put in charge of tho train, a.ud representatives of each city taking part in tho enterprise would also be on board. In addition, of course, the train Would carry an office staff. It is calculated that tho annual cost, after providing for tho extinction of the capital expenditure, and including all fitting, running, maintenance, administration, and other charge*, salaries, and wages, Would .nob Work out at much more than £2(hO per car. Tho present ascertained eost would; allow ample exhibition space to bo tot to manufacturers at. from £30 to £120 per annum. It i,s estimated that it will take the train four tears• to cover tho country thoroughly, travelling as it will, many thousands of miles, and calling at every town and city, tint a.s new centres cf population are constantly springing up in Canada, and trade is expanding at a great rate, tho probability is that tho train will go on beyond the four years —iudttliniLely. in faefc.
