' Christchurcli, October 26. P e About 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon a two-storied seven-roomed house, owned by Mrs. Paul M'Coll, of Green Park, was totally destroyed by firo. Tho insurances were £200 on the house and £70 , on tho furniture. An outbreak occurred on Saturday afternoon on premises in Colombo Street occupied by Mr. J. H. Sherwood, stationer and fancy goods dealer. Tho Be flames got a fairly good hold, but tho . maior portion of the damage done was de by smoke. The building belonged to ft} Mr. John Beverley, and was insured for M £375 in tho Commercial Union, and hu £375 in the Now Zealand Offico. Mr. tin Sherwood's stock was insured for £1000 n in the Xlnitcd Office. nr j — del FIRE IN AUCKLAND..
