_ Tho strike war throughout tho Trinildad district is still unsuppressed, despite tho activity of tho authorities. Tho strikers stopped a train : near Walsonburgh, and captured a niachino gun belonging to the mine owners. A battlo followed, and one of tho strikers was killed and several wounded.

The mncliino gun, howovor, disappeared during the melee, and later the Btrikers used it to bombard a searchlight at tho raino. The conditions here resemble those of actual warfare.
