VALUABLE MAORI CURIOS.

Sir,—Just a, suggestion for the safety of tho Maori curios in the Dominion Museum. Arrange with tho City Council to take over somo of the moro valuable articles, and house them in tho Newtown Museum until a fire-proof museum be erected in place of the Dominion Musonm. Also, arrange with the Arts Society for taking in a few glass cases and storing the best specimens of Maori art in the Art Gallery. The few visitors that may go to Nowtown Museum or the. Art Gallery'would l probably bo compensated for any inconvenience by the collections of other exhibits in both places,—l am, etc., E.M.C. Wellington, October 24,-1018.
