CITY MARKETS.
The Navua arrived; yesterday with the -usual consignment of bananaß, which were in larger quantities than last month. Both the New South Wales and Tasmanian shipments arriving at the Blair and' Alien Street • markets were smaller than last w&ek, with values slightly lower this week. Transhipments of oranges from the Cook Islands via Auckland camo to hand, but a fair percentage opened -up in bad order. Several lines ofj vegetables are in heavy supply, with low values ruling. New potatoes are ini excellent demand, but no change can bo reported regarding old potatoes. A fresh shipment of Japanese onions is to hand, but their condition is reported to bo rather unsatisfactory. Fresh eggs are in excellent demand 1 at higher rates than last week.

In another column will be found an advertisement of Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., of palmerston North, relating to their annual spring cattle fair, which is to be held by them oil Wednesday next. The entries number 120.0 head of cattle of various ages. Thert are stated to be somo very nno linos of two, three, and four-year bullocks. Buses will Tun from the town to the yards, and luncheoh, will bo obtainable'at the yards.
