Tho House of Rogreseniatives met at 2.80 t>.m. CAHRIBON OFFICERS' CLUB. Mr. G. "WITTY (Ricc&rtcm) gavo notice to ask the Minister of Defence whether it'was a fact that the members of tho Wellington Garrißon Officers' Club had boon given tho alternative of obeying orders or resigning their commissions. It was reported, he said, that suoh oji alternative had been offered. A VALIDATION BILL, The Local Authorities Expenditure Validation Bill was introduced, by Governor's Message. The PRIME MINISTER eaid that the Bill "authorised the expenditure by certain local bodies in connection with the visit of tho battleship, and also expenditure by local bodies in the Auckland district upon tho Auckland Exhibition. Tho Bill was read a first "time, BIX DAYB/A WEEK. Tho Shops and Offices Bill was reported from the Labour Bills Committee. Mr. WITTY asked what had been done about tho six-day week proposal Mr. J. H. BRADNEY (Chairman of Committee) said that this matter had been left to the discretion of tile Arbitration, Court.
