MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Mr. W. G. Riddeli, S.M., presided over a sitting • of the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Timothy Jolin Watson appeared on a charge of forging an order for £49 2s. 9(1. on' Government Savings Bank at Hobart, Tasmania.. Accused had been arrested on a provisional warrant by Dotectivo Sergeant Rawle on October 3, and had admitted his identity. Senior. Constable G, Wright, of the Tasmanian' Police, stated that the offence had been committed at Hobart on August 1. Accused, who had nothing to say, was ordered to be sent hack to Tasmania in custody of Senior Constable Wright. Mary C. Mead, represented by Mr. P. W. Jackson, proceeded against Ernest John Mead for maintenance. Defendant was ordered to contribute 15s. towards the support of his wifo, ss, a week towards each of his two children, and to pay costs, £2 2s. He was also ordered to enter into a bond of £100 as a surety of his paying the money. One first offender wi'is convicted and discharged for drunkenness.
