' .CONCLUDING RESULTS. ' "FATAL 'ACCIDENT IN THE RING. (By Telegraph.—Special Eeuorter.l ' Hastings, October 23. Steady rain fell all clay, and made the conditions very unpleasant for People's Day at the Hawko s Bay Jubilee Show. All the footways at the ground were in . a very bad state. Nevertheless, there ! was a very large attendance. A fatal • accident occurred in tho jumping ring . in the afternoon. Tho victim "was Mr. [ 'Hubert St. Clair Sinclair, a Napier resi- [ dent, about ,35 years of age. He was , riding a baulking horse, which threw ( him at tho second hurdle, and then fell . on hini. . Death apparently was instan- . taneous. Tho occurrence cast a gloom over tho proceedings, and made the 1 other riders feel, as one put it, very little like facing the fences afterwards.
