FINAL RESOLUTIONS. ' (By Teleifraph—Press Association.) . Wahganul, October 22. , At this morning's session of the Baptist Conference the budget was considered by the Assembly. The estimated receipts and expenditure of £1454 were approved and grants in aid of churches and homo mission were made of £005, and a further contingent vote of £150 was sanctioned. Messrs. Duncombe, Rushbroote, and Chnrd ivcro accepted as ministerial students for admission to tho Theological Hall, making a total number of seven students now "being trained by the Union. The missionary budget' was submitted and improved, indicating an expected revenue and expenditure of £3023. Thanks were expressed to the Rev. H. B. Hughes, M.A., for his annual missionary sermon. The Rev. J. J. North was elected missionary preacher for 1914. It was resolved to recommend to churches that evangelistic missions bo conducted by ministers of the denomination during the coming year. Mrs. T. A. Atkinson moved: "That the Baptist Union of New Zealand, in conference assembled, earnestly requests the Prime Minister to introduce and pass without delay such amendment of tlio Education Act as may bo necessary to prevent tho Education Boards and School Committees refusing to allow voluntary Biblo instruction to be given under what is known as the Nelson system." Tho motion was discussed in a hearty and favourable spirit, and was earned:by 69 yotes to 1. , The Rov. W. S. Rollings moved a strongly-worded resolution rejoicing in the growth of amity between and Germany, and praying that tho time may soon come when arbitration will take tho place of war as the tribunal of nations. Regret was expressed that prosecutions havo taken place of those who have conscientious objections to military training, and tho conference urged an amendment of the law to accommodate such objectors and protested emphatically against persecutions. .The motion was carried with acclamation. Resolutions on the NoLicense issue and the bare majority question were moved by Mr. A. S. Adams and carried unanimously.
