BAPTIST CONFERENCE.
OFFICERS ELECTED. By Toleeraph-r-Press Association—Copyright Wanganul, October 21. At the Baptist Conference to-day the election of officers for tho ensuing year resulted as follow: —President, Rev. E. A. Kirwood (Auckland); vice-president, Mr. C. Cathio (Wellington); secretary, Rev. R. S. Gray (Duuedin), treasurer, Mr. W. Lamboumo (Auckland); financial secretary, Rev. A. North (Wellington); editor of tho "Baptist," Mr. 11. H. Driver. The Rev. F. H. Radford (Wanganui) was appointed union preacher for the next year, and tho Rev. . A. T. Braiusby (Wellington) deputy preacher. .An invitation to ■ hold tho next conference in Auckland' was accepted. The report of the special committee of Ministerial Settlements Committee was presented by tho Rev. J. J. North. After discussion tho notion for the adoption of tho scheme i subject to confirmation at the next assembly, after having been submitted to churches, was carried unanimously. The conference on young people's and Sunday school work was held in the evening, all tho reports showing decided progress.
