BANK MANAGER'S FALL.

Several years ago the manager of a country branch of tho Bank of Australasia was committed for trial charged with embezzling the bank's funds. Ho absconded from bail, which was estreated. Recently he received some money from an estate, paid the bank and bondsmen in full, and surrendered him'self. He was tried last session and sentenced to two years' imprisonment as a first offender, and immediately released, the sontenco dating from the time of tho embezzlement.
