Edwards, of Melbourne, tho result will remain in abeyance, pending tho decision s of the Council of tho Riflo Association. „ It appears that in ono shot, M'Alistcr t exceeded tho time limit by fifteen se- i conds. A protest was made to tho J rango officer, who disallowed tho shot, i but Edwards showed fino sportsmanship, . E and volunteered to shoot off. Meantime M'Alister appealed against tho dis- | allowance, and the executive met. They j disallowed tho shot, but decided to al- ; low tho two marksmon to shoot off j without delay, as they lived so far i apart, and it would bo a difficult matter to get them together again in the event of tlio council deciding in" M'Alister's favour.
