CONFERENCE AT WANGANUI. {Br Telegraph.—Preei Association.) Wanganui, October 17. , Tho fourth session of the Baptist. Union of New Zealand was held ' today. Tho report of tho Board of Introduction and Advice was presented by the Rev. Hi K. Kempton. 'The Rev. E. H. Hobday (Dunedin) presented the report of "The Now Zealand Baptist, ■ which showed that tho paper is, m | a healthy st-ato financially. The thanks of the' assembly wore accorded to tho editor. Mr. 11. H. Driver, of Dunedin, and to tho Rov. Mr.,Hobday, manager. The ltev. J. J. North presented tho report of tho Students' Committee, which showed : that t'ho students in residence had all secured good results in their term examination. The Homo missionaries had, with fair regularity, sat for tho prescribed examinations. A, number of applicants were now beforo tho committee for training for the ministry. ' Tho ltev. A. North reported that the amount nccessary for training for, five additional students had been pro* mised by laymen of tho denomination. | At tho afternoon session a debate took place on a motion by the Rov. Adams, of Dunedin, presided. Ho referred to Baptists as being m tho forefront of all reforms for tho benefit and/ uplifting of mankind, l'ho Rev. I.
