DEATH BY POISON. (Bt Teleeranli.—Presa Association.) Hastings, October 10. i Carl Ritz, a nativo of Austria, who [took poison on Monday, died last night. 'Ho left a letter addressed to his employer, in which ho stated that his ljffi bad been one long mental troublo. Ritz was in comfortable circumstances, and is said to bo well connected, - At the inquest a vei'dict' was returned that death was caused by a dose of poison intentionally 6elf-administered. Messrs. J. H. Bethnne and Co. announce in our auction columns that at 1 p.m. to-day, in the estate of the lato H. C. Watson, they aro holding a furniture salo at the residence. No. 141 Clydo Quay. Mra. Martin Williams, tho well-known Wellington teacher of elocution, will bo leaving shortly to reside at Hamilton, Waikato. Before leaving sho will givo an elocutionary recital, along with many of Iter pupils, including clever little Cecil Haines, at the Town Hall Concert Chamber. on Tuesday next.
