Further particulars of the Woolbrook tragedy, near Armidale, where a lialfcasto named Brown shot his mother-in-law dead, and was himself shot dead by Constablo Clarke, who was sent to arrost him, show that when Brown's wife and two children returned to her mother. Brown followed them, and then ensued a dispute over tho children. Mrs. Brown sent for a constable, but before his arrival, Brown shot his mother-in-law dead, and fired two shots after his wife, who had taken flight. Both shots passed through hor blouse, and sho was uninjured.^ Brown, then bolted into tho bush. Twenty shots wore exchanged between Brown and the policeman, one of them piercing tho constablo|s helmet before Brown was shot dead/
