INGLEWOOD BACON COMPANY'S PROSPERITY. ihe annual report of the Inglewood Co-operativo Baeon . Curing Company, Ltd., presented at tlie annual meeting, held in liiglewood on Saturday, disclosed a highly satisfactory state of affairs. Tho report states that Owing to tho diminished supply of pigs, prices for pigs' and also for tho factory products had been very high during the past year, whilst tho demand for bacon Jiad been very keen, and was still unsatisfied.- Although tho number of pigs.handled at tho factory was fewer than that for the previous year, tho amount paid out showed a substantial increase. During tho year the company paid out to shareholders tho sum of .-6559 Bs. Id.- in excess of the market price of pigs. A further payment of £522 10s. 9d., being at the rate of ono farthing per lb. on all pigs received, •iid also been authorised and paid. Tho working of tho insurance fund had been most satisfactory, 'and a refund of threepence per pig had been made on all pigs, received. A dividend of 5 per cent, on share capital had been authorised to be paid. Tho rate of depreciation had. been increased, amplo allowance had been made for bad and doubtful debts, and there remained a balanco of £31 9s. Gd. to carry forward. : The number of shareholders again showed a tsWio increase, whilst the share capital account still continued to be satisfactory. In anticipation of a largely increased, supply of pigs during the coming sc-ason, further improvements and additions to the buildings and plant wero being mado. The putlook for tho coming season was a bright one, and a record season is anticipated, in so far as tho number of pigs is concerned, and prices are expected to reach a high levo].
