DESCENT AMIDST FLAMES. • By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Berlin, October 10. An Austrian .monoplano, with one passenger, ignited when at a height of 2000 ft. It descended at Neuendorf, Brandenburg, almost perpendicularly. The occupants jumped and escaped without injury. THE HAWKER ACCIDENT. London, October 10. Mr. Hawker, tho Australian aviator, v/ho fell from a height of 100 ft. whilo flying at Brooklands, is progressing favourably. - .... Mr. Hawker explains that his accident was duo to carelessness in turning in the wind with a heavy load of petrol too closo to tho gtound. Tho muscles of his back were strained through bracing himself for the fall.
