If these papers had been disclosed tho discovery would havo moant a war. A loyal secretary of the Minister's (tlion Premier), called unsuccessfully upon {lie lady. Who held tight till invited to tea at Buckingham Pnlaco, when, in the prosenco of a third party, the affability of tho King accomplished in fifteen minutes what had cost tho entire Cabinet threo weeks of worry and diplomatic "funk."
