WELLINGTON MOTOR-CLUB.
HILL-CLIMBING AT KAItORI. Notwithstanding tho_ heavy rain which liad fallen overnight no fewer than sixteen competitors participated in the hill-climbing contest organised by the Wellington Motor-Cycling Club. This took place upon the Karori side of Makara Hill, and tlio officials were as follow: Starters, Messrs. C. D. Bridge and W. C. Stephens; timekeepers, Messrs. 0. Lawrenco and l'\ Foord. Each competitor had to go up the hill twice, tho 0110 whoso times had tho least dilferenco being tho winner. Tlio results were as under: —First, J. W. Clarke (4-h.p. Precision), lwc. difference; 2, 11. Low (7-li.p. Indian), 1 l-ssec. difference; 3, P. England (7-h.p. Indian), 1 2-ssce. difference. The fastest time was done by A. B. Collins (3J h.p. Triumph), who mounted iii lmin. 2G 4-sscc.
