They are charged with assaulting a Scotchman who had tendered a sovereign in payment of a twopenny knife, but who did not receive his change, and whon he called next day the tbreo defendants attempted to eject him, breaking his nose. The acoused were remanded to custody. ' The newspapers are filled with complaints of people boing fleeced in such places. Scotland Yard states that the police authorities have been unable to take action, as people do not care to make epeoifio charges.
