'An unconfirmed rumour has been circulated here that Sir George Reid, High Commissioner for Australia, died on board ship whilo passing through the Red Sea en route to Australia, on a visit. RUITOUR NOT SUBSTANTIATED. (Reo. Ootober 10, 10.30 p.m.) Sydney, October 10. Inquiries made in various directions, including the Federal Government Departments, have failed to disclose any foundation in the rumour of Sir George Ileid's death.
