CENTRAL MISSION.
QUARTER'S CIRCUIT MEETING.
Tho quarterly circuit meeting of the Central Mission was held last night at tho Horbert Street Hall, the Rev. Knowles Smith presiding over a sparse attendance, duo to tho inclement weather. _ 'It was reported that tho membership is now 130, being an increase of eleven on the quarter. Tho incomo for the quarter was £816 10s. 3d., including £164 125., the annual collection made by Mr. M'Quade, to which tho response has been moro generous than usual by tho business men of the city, probably duo to tho fact that tho sister is doing exceptionally fine work. The income just about meets tho expenditure. Tho necessity for increased accommodation on Sunday evenings is acutely felt, the New Thoatre usually being ovorcrowded. Tho desirability of selling or letting tho present hall so as to move into better promises was also discussed. TUo Rev. Knowles Smith was unanimously invited to remain another year • and accepted tho invitation. The circuit .stewards are Colonel Macintosh and Mr. W. E. Howo. Favourable reports wore received from all tho departments.
