UMPIRES FOR MATCHES. Umpires for senior championship matches for to-day have been appointed as follow:—No. 1 Baßin Reserve, Eafft A v. North, Messrs. D. M'Ken/.io and Lambort; No. 2 Basin Reserve, Victoria College v. Central, Messrs. Bock and Gardiner; No. 3 Basin Reserve, Old Boys v. East B, Messrs. Varney and 0. M'Konzie. Hutt—Petone v, Hutt, Messrs, Rodgers and Jenness, . THE ART UNION. A meeting of the Art Union OonjmHr tea of the Orioket Association was held last night. There were thirty members present. Mr. 0. G. Wilson presided. It was reported that nearly all the books of tickets are now out in the hands of oanvassers. This moans about 18,700 tickets. Money is said to be ooming In fairly freely. A good deal of oash was handed in at th? meeting. NEW ORIOKET CLUB. A number of cricketers havo decidcd to form a new club, and have been successful in enlisting sufficient members to ensure the project being a success. Three meetings have been held. The new body will be known as the Austral Club, though it is in no way connected with a former club of that name. It was decided to join the Wellington Junior Cricket Association. The following offioora were elooted:—President, Mr. Arthur George ; vioe-presi-denta, Messrs. W. Metz, J. F. Atkins, L. Sandberg, W. L. Hogarth, L. George, and J. P. Shand; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. J. Reeves; committee, Messrs. F. Vara, W. Thompson, E. Grogson, and W. F. Ponder; delogato, H. Jes sop.
