Witty asked tho Government) the following question in the House of Representatives last u'eelt: —"Whether it is not a fact that a largo majority of tho 700 military pensioners who 'tlio Hon. Mr. Fisher stated at Palmerston North oil September 20, would otlicrwiso have died nit paupers if tho present Government had not passed tho Military Pensions Act of last year, were receiving the okl-ase pension prior to t-li« passins of tho Military Pensions Act of 1012?" - To this question lie received tlm following reply from the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, Minister in Charge of tho Pensions Department:—"Mr. Fisher having made no sueli statement it is unnecessary to answer tlio question, which i# not founded ou faot.! -
