CLARA BUTT SEASON.

Madamo Clara Butt and Mr. KennerIcv Rumford arrive by the Tahiti today, and they will stay in Wellington for about a week; Tho famous singers aro visiting New Zealand for tho second time, and everyono will doubtless wish them the warmest of welcomes. As already announced, they will begin their tour here on Thursday evening, and the opening concert promises to bo a brilliant event. It will be remembered tliat when they wero here fivo years ago, Maclame Butt and Mr. Rumford created an excellent improssion, and tho concerts which they tlion gave attracted to tlio Town Hall amazingly large audiences. Their recent Australian tour indicates that they have lost none of their charm, for some fifty concerts wero given, and over 120,000 people attended them. Madame Butt and Mr. Rumford are to give twenty concerts in New Zealand, three of which have been allotted to Wellington, and the opening concert of the tour will be attended by His Excellency tho Governor, the Countess of Liverpool and suite. Accompanying Madame Butt and Mr. Rumford aro Mr. AVilliam Murdoch, (pianist), Mr. Mowat Carter (violinist), and Mr. Harold Craxton (accompanist). Tho 3s. and 2s. tickets will be placed on sale at Christeson's to-morrow, Thursday.'
