REPORT ON DUBLIN STRIKE.
CONCILIATION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED. SYMPATHETIC STRIKES CONDEMNED. By Tckeraph—Pr-838 Association—Copyright London, Octobor 6. Sir George Askwith, Board of Trade Industrial Commissioner, in Iris report 011 the Dublin industrial dispute, recommends tlio appointment of a conciliation committee, consisting of representatives of tho masters and men'. The report condemns' sympathetic strikes, and. declares that documents the workors had boon asked to sign, binding them not to join tlio Transport Workers' Union, had interfered with individual liberty. The masters decline to accept the report, but tlio workers aro prepared to accept it as a basis for negotiations. (Rcc. Octobor 7, 11.25 p.m.) Dublin, October 7. The employers state that. Sir George Askwith's scliemo offers no effectivo solution of the problem. MINERS ADOPT POLITICAL METHODS. (Rec. Octobor 7, 11.25 p.m.) London, Octobor'7. A ballot of 600,000 resulted in a substantial majority in favour of tlio Miners' Federation taking political action in, accordance with tho Trades' Union Act. Tho levy represents £30,000 annually for election purposes.
