WILD WOMEN AND MR. ASQUITH
■ 4 ■ TUSSLE ON A GOLF GREEN. Mt. Asquith was attacked by Suffragettes while playing golf at Loissiemouth, Morayshire, on August 28. After tho rising of Parliament Mr. a" uitli had been staying at Hojjemnn ge, near Lossiemouth, and daily he had enjoyed a gaino on tho Stotfield links; ror some time there wore rumours of Suffragettes in tho vicinity and a close police watch was kept on the links. Tho militants, however, avaded this, and in the afternoon, about 5.30, when the Premier was playing a round with his daughter and had Teached the seventeenth green, two women suddenly appeared and rushed at him. Thev knocked Mr. Asquith's hat off, struck him oil tho head with a book, and then proceeded to drag him about. Mr. Asquith warded off ono of the women, and Miss Asquith grappled with tho other. A strugglo was waged, tho militants shouting wildly about justice for wo- . men. After some moments detectives ran up and seized tho women, though tlioy had somo difficulty in pulling them away. They wore taken to tho club house 1 and subsequently to Elgin Policc Sta- • tion. A largo crowd which bad assembled hissed them and threatened tc ' duck tliem in the sea. They refused tc give names or addresses. ! Tho Premier calmly finished his gnm< \ and was loudly cheered by the spocta torn.
