ROSS GOLDFIELDS REPORT. GOLD-WINNING TO BEGIN. Christchurcli, October 6. Mr. G.*F. Davis. chairman of directors of Roes Goldflelds, Ltd., has received tho following telegram from tho mine manager: —"Completed tho connection into the Casfius mailt <Mve, ami connccted up a double trucking rood into the main- shaft; am loving new rails through tho Cassiiia drive; expect to start two drive© iu the wa s h on the -south side of the Gassins old workings on Wednesday next." Mr. Davis fays that he would like it to bo clearly understood that the drives to be started tomorrow arc tho commencement of tho work for tho recovery of gold. All the worlc dono up to the present has been nurcly development work, but. from now on, shareholders inay look forward to regular weekly returns. These returns will bo small for some few weeks, and tho manmoment do not expect the gold returns to fully cover oxponses until after the cud of this month. DREDGING. Rcofton, October 6.
