(From Our Spocial Correspondent.) • Mr. Ackroyd, of the Potono Woollen Mills," gave an interesting lecturo on "Wool-spinning" to tho pupils attending the wool-classing class at the letone Technical School on Friday evening. At tho conclusion tho lecturer was accorded a voto of thanks. Tho bazaar in aid of St. James s organ fund 'concluded at tho Lyceum, Lower Ilutt, 011 Saturday night. Ihero was a good attendance and trade was brisk. Mrs. V. Riddiford, and Mrs. T. M. Wilford opened the proceedings, l'ho total receipts were £105 13s. 6d., and the estimated expenditure is about £10. Tho organ fund now stands at approximately £295, and it is understood that a suitable instrument can bo obtained for £300. With a view of supplying players tor tho I'etono Municipal Band, Mr. R. Hartley has commenced a learners class. Already somo twelvo young men havo availed themselves of tho opportunity to loam a brass, instrument, and more aro forthcoming. During Soptember tho Petono ambulance van mado six journeys. Ono caso was brought from Wainui and 0110 from Lower Ilutt.
