RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE HIGHLAND CLUB'S SEASON.' ' Tho Highland Rifle Club will commence its sccond season at Trontliam Rango to-morrow. -Tho patron (Liou-teiiant-Coloiicl C. D. Mackintosh) will firo tho first shot. Tlio feature of the afternoon will be a match between teams solectcd by the president and deputy-president. The executive stato that the 'programme for tho season sliotild prove attractive. In addition to the championship there will bo a long nndi short-range aggregate, three monthly competitions, ~ajid a trophy for the highest scorer each Saturday. Tlio club is divided into two classes (A and B), with Lieutenant A. S. Henderson as sole handicappcr. For to-morrow's event tho train loaves Lambton station at 1.40 p.m. KARORI RIFLE CLUB. To suit the convenience of the members of Parliament, the Parliamentary match North r. South Island lias been postponed until Saturday, October 11. Tho club practioo match will procecd as usual to-morrow.
