Two persons were electrocuted wliilo operatiug the electric train system. On Brooklyn Bridge tho pedestrian traffic is tho greatest sinco the bridgo was opened, owing to tho fact that tho traction companies aro helpless. i Four men wero buried by a sewer i caving in, but wero rescued alive. Lightning fired an elovator_ railway train, but lieavy rain extinguished tho < llamos before any damage was dono. There is considerable loss to property, tho estimate running into millions of dollars. LAKE CHARLES FLOODS. PEOPLE LEAVING THEIR HOMES. ■ (Rco. Ootober 2, 10.40 p.m.) Washington, October 2. The Lako Charles floodß aro driving tho p&ople out of the residential districts. The whole of tho business district is under water and heavy damage has resulted. No lives have been lost. Railway communication is interrupted, the tracks being flooded. CONSTANTINOPLE FLOODED. EIGHTY PERSONS DROWNED. (Reo. October 3, 0.10 a.m.) Constantinople, Ootober 2. A flood has destroyed a hundred houses. Eighty persons were drowned at Boyuk Dere (in tho vicinity of which are rosident many of tho foreign Ambassadors to the Porte). Foreign warships resoued sixty.
