New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts lias made a departure from' its custom of opening the annual exhibition on a Saturday afternoon, and the opening this year will take the form of an evening function, a course that has been followed with much succoss by other societies. The exhibition will bo opened on Saturday evening by His Excellency tho Governor. Among the pictures exhibited will bo two lareo oil paintings b.v T. B. Kennington, the ■ well-known English artist, one .of tliem having been hung on the line at the Academy and exhibited at the Intornatisnal . Art Exhibition at Rome. '
