The. matter is one of special interest to tho various local bodies concofned, as until a routo jb ! definitely fixod, they lare unable ,to decido upon roadin'g' policies, and tlio consequent arranging of access to tho stations that will be placcd along the routo. At. the prosent' time much' of the stock for tho local markets, and for shipment at Mangapai, is driven from tlio hinterland and tho lands further to tho west on tho Wairoa side.' and in this connection transit by rail is being anticipated.
