- TROTTING. STARTING & HANDICAPPING. (Bjf Telegrnph.—l'rciiS 1 Association;)' Christchurch, October 1. .. 'At a meeting of tho Board of tho New Zealand Trotting Association today, the president (Mr. P. Selig) referred to a proposal which he had made regarding tho setting up of a sub-com-mittee to consider the whole matter of handicapping and starting. His suggestion was that there should be a meeting of men who.wero.experts, and representative of the various clubs. Mr. Nicoll said that it would save a great deal of time if somo scheme wtro' prepared to set before such a ence.
•Mr. Denton moved: "That a committee,'consisting of Messrs. Nicoll; Simes, and the njover, be appointed to draft a circular which could he presented to the! conference."
Sir. Mark thought that if a good scheme was proposed by the sub-com-mittee, it would not bo necessary ■ to' call a conference. The sub-committeoi could report at its next meeting. Mr. Denton agreed with this proposal* and withdrew his motion, and it was decided to add Mr. Marks's namo to a: committee which would discuss the question of starting alone.
