London, September 30. Tho special correspondent of "Tho Times " says that opinion in Dublin is undecided respecting tho riglits or wrpngs of tho strike, hut that there is 110 doubt about .the enthusiasm with which Larkin (the strike leador) inspires tho men. He has a magnotio personal-
ity. A feeling of pity, adds tho correspondent, makes tho peoplo desire a settlement. "Daily processions emerge from the dark, degraded magniiicence of Old Dublin—women first, with children in arms, young girls shaking tin cans and appealing Tor peiico from tho passers-by,, followed by strikers, mostly roughs or weaklings."
EMPLOYERS MAKE A STAND. / TROUBLE IN THE COTTON MILLS. (Rec. October 1, 9 p.m.) London, October 1. The operatives have closed the Beehive Cotton Mill at lJolton, alleging tho tyranny of 0110 of tho overseers.
• ,Tho Master Cotton Spinners' Federation threaten a general lock-out of the wholo trade, resenting tlio operatives dictating to those who aro placed in authority over them. Tho Beehive workers acted against the advice of their leadors, who admit t'hat they lost control of tho workers.
ADMIRALTY AND STRIKERS. ' London, September 30. Tho Admiralty states that in future dock3'ard officials will settlo minor disn' is and tho Financial Secretary will .with tho larger disputes. Tho officials will meet the men's representatives, whoso wages and travelling oxpenses will'bo paid. Tho men's representatives may he accompanied by trade union leaders not employed in the dockyards.
The Admiralty refuses to appoint a Conciliation Board.
REVOLVERS FIRED. STRIKE DISORDERS IN AMERICA. Calumet (Michigan) Sept. 30. There has been a renowal of strike disorders. Tho troublo is raging throughout, tho district. Miners attacked a special railway car containing strike-breakers, broke tho windows, exchanged a brisk fusjlado of shots with those on board, toro up the tracks, and tho car was obliged to return.
Many women sympathisers liavo boon arrested.
Tho militia aro attempting to restore order, but additional troops aro necessary.
