QUARANTINE TO HOLD.
NO RELIEF FOR SYDNEY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, Ootober 1. In the Federal Honso of Representatives, the Prime Minister, Sir. Cook, stated that until the States had taken steps on their own account to prevent smallpox spreading to other States, the quarantine restrictions'in Sydnoy would not bo raised.
FRESH CASES REPORTED. (Rec. October 2, 0.15 a.m.) Sydney, October 1. Fivo eases of smallpox were reported to-day, and also a suspicious case at Cootamundra.
