A report from Paris skates that Gaston, Bonnier recently submitted to the Nor tional Agricultural Society of France samples of a Ufiw vegetable ivory made from the albumen of the fruit of a, certaan small palm (of the genus Hyphaena, tribe' Borassus) growing in tho forests of French. Sudan. The albumen hardens on exposure to the air, and it resembles natural ivory in colour and texture 1 . This product is 'said to Tesemble the vegetable ivory from another palm (Phytelcphafi llacrocarpa) found in oquatoriaJ South America.
