MATJNGANUI FROM SYDNEY. At 5 30 a.m. yesterday tho Maunganul arrived in the stream, after an exceptionally, niio trip, from Sydiley. Some three liours later she berthed at the Queens Wharf, No. 1 south. Included in a large anantity of general cargo are 2751 cases of fruit and transhipments ex Oh-a-ngdha, Lothenngen, Goeben. Gottingen, Morca, Empir#, Oldenham, Java, Apolda.. Elmshorn, Omrah, Orvieto, and Nikko Ifaru. . The Maunganui will leave at 5 p.m. today for Melbourne, via southern porta. -
tub amokura. To-day tho Government training-ship Amokura is tio leftve port for Cook Strait, where she will cruise for about a week prior to loa-ving for the southern islands for the purpose ;of inspecting tho cost-awo# depots. On her voyage 60Utli she' will call at Lyttelton and Dunedin.
The ferry steamer Mararoa'e overhaul will be completed this evening in time for her to leave for Lyttelton at 8 p.m.
After putting out Greymouth timber at Sydney tho Maoriland Company's Enner-' dale will go to Huon (Tasmania) to load timber for Oamo.ru and Lyttelton.
The Tyser liner Star of Ireland was to have left Now York on Tuesday for Auckland, Napier, Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Nelson. ' .
According to advices from San Francisco the schooner Eainbridue was to have left Paget Sound last Saturday wdtli a full cargo of timber for Lyttelton-.
It, is anticipated that tho flhaw-Savill Gteamer Athenie. will have finished discharge of the Wellington portion of her London cargo in time to sail for Lyttclton on Sunday. Tho liner has boetv fixed to load ct Port Chalmers, Auckland, ana Wellington.
The Blackball collier Neatoro is due at Wellington from Napier to-day for overhaul.
Tho oollier Kittawa is at present on the Evans Bay Slip, and. is expected to corn© off on Priday iorning. Tho steamers Opawa, and Queen of tho South wall then bo slipped, these being followed by the Ngatoro.
Tho F. and 8. steamer Northernlms arrived at Sydney from New York with general cargo. She is expected to leave , the New South Wales port on, Ootober 10 lor Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due here oil October io. Messre. R. J. Fowler and G. Macdonald have joined tlio Tcrawhiti as first, and second officers respectively.
On Tuesday last the collior Pukaki left Greymouth for Wellington, via. Lyttelton, with a cargo of timber and coal.
The collier Rakanoa, arrived yesterday from Nowcastlc, and will probably leave on Wednesday next for Westport.
Hiinemoa, C.G.S., which is at present working her way north, was at Portland Islands yesterday. She is expected to leave for tho' East Cape to-day.

After having been laid up at Lyttelton, for about two months the Kaiapod Shipping Company's steamer Wootton again rcsum-. Ed running yesterday. She has been fitted with a. new boiler by Messrs. Anderson, Limited. During the time the boiler was under construction tho opportunity- wag taken to give the engines a. thorough overhaul and also raako very extensive alterations amidships.
Wellington Heads reported that tho Union collier Karamu, bound from Westport to Napier, passed at 8 p.m. yesterday. Mr. Ncill, lato purser of tho Paloono., who is on transfer to Dunedin, was a passenger from Sydney to Wellington by tho Maungaiiui yesterday.
