WOMEN AND JURIES.
"Wo" want to sit on juries, to ciiter tho legal profession, ana to sit as Justices of the Peace." This summarised tho requests made by a deputation from tho Women's Progressive Association, Sydney, which waited on tho Stato Attorney-General (Mr. Hall) recently. Mr. Hall, in reply, said that tlio judicial functions of a J.P. were nominal rather than real in Now South Wales. Thoy had mado substantial alterations in tho praotico of tho Children's Court and tho Women's Court. Women had been given a great deal moro work, and he was anxious to see how tho system worked out. If a further extension of woman's spliero seemed desirable, he would bo perfectly in agreement. Regarding service on juries, this was not a privilege, but an obligation, and one that a very largo number of men were anxious to get out of. Beforo ho would be prepared to <my that all women should tako their places 011 juries, ho would like to hear tho opinion of women generally about it. There was a certain class of case where they could havo a jury of mothers. He was porfectly in sympathy with tho claim for women at tho Bar. Whethor tliey would succeed was a different matter. Ho would look into it, and seo whether Parliament or the Supremo Court had power to effect, an alteration. The success attained from the preparations for tho Scalp, Hair, and Skin, manufactured under Miss Milsom's supervision, after 1G years of experience, has resulted in positive'cures for Danaruff, Irritation of the Scalp, Falling Hair, and Grey hair.
