UNJUST ATTACKS.

Sir, —1 our correspondent in this Morning's Dominion, September 23, seems to forget or ignore the facts that the Rev. Canon Garland is an inhabitant of this Dominion, a citizen of Wellington with all the rights arid privileges pertaining thereto, and consequently now no stranger among ys; that this city can consider it is blessed and not cursed by having a citizen of the culture and standing of Canon Garland in its midst, and that the referendum has been tried and proved in this Dominion. We are not asking for the referendum to do a murder, as in. the case of Pilate, but to do the right, which must and will prevail. If your correspondent had read or studied the words or works of that "Best of Beings," he would know this saying: "Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward inTieaven; for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." The rending of the words of this, the "Best of Beings that over touched this ewtli," is just what we lack in the schools of this Dominion, and we, the mothers of this Dominion, who know what tint lack means to our children, intend to Jeave no stono unturned until wo get the Bible back into its rightful place in our schools.—l am, etc..
