MILK TESTING.
Sir, —A week or so ago J read in your paper a report of the "deputation of milk vondors which waited on the Government re the above. Olio selfconstituted critic, to wit, Henry Bodley, asserted, or rather insinuated, that the analysts, when a sample was sent them, did not test it—did not know how to do so—and that they resorted to subterfuge to meet their end. lam not going to writo in extenso anent the deputation's remarks. I fully expected someone would tako the matter up, but as no 0110 seemed to realise what a misleading effect those irresponsible utterances might have on the uninitiated, I was compelled by a sense of duty to enter the lists, and emphatically contradict such random statements. lam in no wise biased towards the deputation, and appreciate the good work they intend doing, but would like a square deal given the Analytical Department referred to, and not subject its officers to criticism by incompetent censors.—l am, etc., A. POLGLASE LEVIN.
