TOWN HALL CLOCK.
Matters in connection with the efforts to secure a clock for the tower of the Town Hall have been steadily wprked by the Orphanß Club during "the past two or three months, and a substantial Bum is in hand. It has been decided by. thp club to hold an entertainment Ui the Town Hall on Octobor 22, when kho, drawing for the gold nugget will tal;e place. There are a great number >f books still out. and the' executive irould be obliged if these were sent in fs-soon as-possible, together with the Sash. This is' the principal reason why the drawing has had to bo postponed, and it i 3 hoped that all those holding books will realise tho necessity of returning them as soon as possible. An exceptionally fine programme will bo arranged, contributed to by leading nrtists of /Wellington; Mr. Bernard Page, City Organist, has consented to contribute several selections _ on tho organ. Items will also be given by Mr. Hamilton Hodges, Mr. Lulo, and Miss Cecile Haines. ■ Tho Orpheus Quartet will also appear and render tomo of their choicest items._ Immediately the concert v 'progranime is definitely arranged, full particulars will bo advertised. The prices will bo popular.
