THE BIBLE IN SOUTH AMERICA.
Mr. J. Kershaw presided at yesterday's meeting of tho Wellington Men's Brotherhood. Tho gathering was held in tho usual meeting placo (tho New Theatre), and thero was a good attendance. The speaker was Mr. 6, W. Bay, P.R.G.S. Mr. Ray's remarks concerned in tho main tho need for making known to tho savages of South America the word of God. The lecturer has tra,volled extensively ill tho groat continent, and ho dealt at length with tho relation of tho savages there to tlie Biblo. Ho declared that wo should carry out tho Almighty's injunction to go forth and teach the Bible. Till this was dono tho world would not bo uplifted. South America was our darkest land, and thero was a great deal to be dono in the way of religious work. The continent was a groat land, many portions of which man Had never trod. It was rich enough and large enough to carry an immense population. At the conclusion of the lecture Mr. Boyd contributed a vocal solo.
